GLP treatment — more than weight loss
GLP medications can be highly effective for weight management, but the right dose and pace are different for everyone.
Treatment may help:
- Reduce hunger and food noise
- Help you feel full longer
- Support meaningful, sustainable weight loss
- Improve blood sugar and metabolic health
- Provide important heart and kidney benefits in certain patients
And researchers are discovering that GLPs may do much more.
Research is actively exploring their effects beyond weight loss, including:
- Reducing inflammation
- Cardiovascular and kidney protection
- Improving fatty liver disease
- Improving obstructive sleep apnea
- Effects on arthritis and inflammation-related conditions
- Possible effects on brain health and neuroinflammation
- Potential relationships with lower risk of certain obesity-associated cancers
We can help you feel your best if you are:
- A women age 18–65
- Seeking weight loss or medical weight management
- Looking for help with a weight-loss plateau
- Already at your goal and interested in long-term maintenance
- Interested in an individualized lower-dose or “microdosing” approach when clinically appropriate
- Experiencing perimenopause or menopause-related changes in weight, appetite, body composition, or metabolic health
- Struggling with food noise, increased hunger, or appetite regulation
- Interested in semaglutide or tirzepatide and want help determining which approach may be appropriate
- Having side effects or difficulty tolerating your current GLP dose
- Looking to slow down, adjust, or individualize your titration instead of automatically increasing every few weeks
- Transitioning from active weight loss to maintenance without regaining
Looking for ongoing clinician support rather than being handed medication and expected to figure it out yourself
We recommend in person care if you have:
- Personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer (MTC)
- Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)
- Pregnancy, planned pregnancy, or breastfeeding
- Severe gastroparesis or significant gastrointestinal disease
- Current or concerning symptoms of pancreatitis
- Significant or recurrent gallbladder problems
- Significant kidney problems, particularly with dehydration or severe vomiting/diarrhea
- Diabetes requiring complex insulin management or significant hypoglycemia risk
- Significant diabetic retinopathy requiring monitoring
- A previous serious allergic reaction to the medication
Our Approach — Care that actually
We provide individualized GLP care based on your goals, response to treatment, side effects, and overall health — not a cookie-cutter titration schedule.
The goal is not automatically to increase your dose every few weeks. Some people need traditional dose escalation, while others do well staying at a lower dose longer. And once you reach your goal, your treatment needs may change. We can help with maintenance dosing, lower-dose strategies, and individualized “microdosing” approaches when clinically appropriate.
GLP care isn’t only about obesity. We may also help patients navigating perimenopause or menopause-related changes in weight, appetite, body composition, food noise, and metabolic health, as well as people who have already lost weight and need a sustainable maintenance plan.
We also provide live clinician support when you need it. If you’re struggling with nausea, constipation, fatigue, appetite changes, a plateau, difficulty tolerating a dose, or simply aren’t sure what to do next, you don’t have to figure it out on your own.
Before you start, please have:
- Photo identification showing name and date of birth
- Recent weight and height
- Current medication including vials or information on current or previous GLP medication, dose, and last dose, if applicable
- Any recent lab work
Do GLP medications actually work?
Yes. GLP based medications such as semaglutide and tirzepatide can produce clinically meaningful weight loss and improve several measures of metabolic health when appropriately prescribed.
But successful treatment isn’t just about losing weight. It’s about finding a plan you can tolerate, maintain, and adapt over time.
Research is also continuing into the broader effects of GLP based therapies, including their potential roles in cardiovascular health, inflammation, liver disease, kidney disease, addiction-related behaviors, neurodegenerative disease, and some obesity-associated cancers. Some benefits are already established for particular medications and patient populations, while others are still being studied.
We treat the person — not a titration chart.
🚫 ⚠️ Please provide complete and accurate health and medication information. GLP medications aren’t appropriate for everyone, and some medical conditions or symptoms may require laboratory testing, additional evaluation, or in-person care before treatment can be safely prescribed.
GLP Treatment Options
Treatment is individualized to you. We don’t require everyone to follow the same automatic dose-escalation schedule.
Medication options may include:
- Semaglutide — standard dosing or individualized alternative dosing when clinically appropriate
- Tirzepatide — standard dosing and possible individualized alternative dosing when clinically appropriate
- Lower-dose / microdosing approaches — for appropriate patients who may benefit from smaller doses
- Maintenance dosing — individualized options after reaching your goal rather than automatically continuing to increase the dose
- Dose adjustments for side effects or tolerability — because the highest dose is not necessarily the best dose for every person
Real provider support — not just a prescription
Your visits are live phone calls with a licensed clinician.
- We review your health history, goals, previous GLP experience, current medications, side effects, and what you actually want from treatment.
- If treatment is appropriate, your initial prescription covers up to 3 months of treatment based on your individualized plan.
After that, you’ll have a live check-in every 3 months to review how you’re doing, make adjustments when needed, and receive your next 3-month prescription when medically appropriate. - No cookie-cutter titration. No being handed a schedule and told to figure it out yourself.
Your pharmacy. Your choice.
- We don’t lock you into one compounding pharmacy.
- You may use the compounding pharmacy of your choice, whether that’s a local pharmacy or a mail-order pharmacy, provided the pharmacy and prescription meet applicable requirements.
- Medication cost is paid directly to the pharmacy and is separate from your MyBodyMyRx visit fee.
Treatment can change as your needs change
- GLP care isn’t necessarily a straight line from the lowest dose to the highest dose. Your plan may change based on results, side effects, appetite, weight trajectory, metabolic goals, menopause-related concerns, maintenance needs, and how you feel.
- The goal is to find the lowest effective, sustainable treatment plan that works for you — with an actual clinician available to help along the way.
Benefits & Risks
Potential Benefits of GLP Treatment
Depending on the medication, dose, and individual patient, GLP–based treatment may help with:
- Weight loss and long-term weight management
- Reduced appetite and food cravings
- Improved blood sugar and insulin resistance
- Improved metabolic health
- Reduced cardiovascular risk in certain patients
- Weight maintenance after reaching your goal
- Managing weight and metabolic changes during perimenopause and menopause
- Reducing “food noise” and helping some patients feel more in control of hunger and eating
Most side effects are gastrointestinal and are often most noticeable when starting treatment or increasing the dose. These may include:
- Nausea
- Constipation or diarrhea
- Vomiting
- Heartburn or reflux
- Abdominal discomfort
- Decreased appetite
- Fatigue
- Headache
- Injection-site reactions
This is one reason we don’t believe everyone needs to increase their dose on the same schedule. Your dose can be adjusted based on your response, goals, and tolerability.
Important Risks
- Less common but potentially serious complications can occur, including pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, vision problems, blindness, dehydration and kidney injury, severe gastrointestinal symptoms, and serious allergic reactions.
- GLP medications may not be appropriate for people with certain medical conditions or medication histories. Your clinician will review your individual risks before prescribing.
Important: GLP Care Should Be Individualized
- More medication isn’t automatically better.
- Our goal is to find the lowest effective and sustainable dose for you, whether that means standard treatment, slower titration, an alternative dosing strategy, or lower-dose maintenance when clinically appropriate.
If symptoms or health concerns arise that cannot be safely evaluated through telehealth, we’ll recommend evaluation by your primary care provider, or in-person care rather than simply continuing or increasing your medication.
No Subscriptions. No Bundles. No Surprise Charges.
GLP care shouldn’t require an expensive membership or force you to buy medication from one specific pharmacy.
- No recurring monthly membership fees
- No automatic medication shipments
- No bundled medication + provider pricing
- No required pharmacy
- No cookie-cutter titration program
- No hidden administrative charges
- No waiting for help
- No figuring it out on your own
